Pink October 2026 – together for women’s health

Together for women’s health!
On 25 October, Rotary Club Warszawa City and the ‘Moja Rodzina’ Medical Centre, together with the Międzynarodowy Ruch Latających Plecaczków / Flying Bag Foundation, organised free breast ultrasound examinations for women from the Vietnamese community Hội Phụ Nữ Việt Nam tại Ba Lan / Association of Vietnamese Women in Poland.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. It is an opportunity to highlight the importance of screening and early detection, and to work together to help women look after their health. The initiative dates back to 1985, when the American Cancer Society co-organised a week-long campaign in the USA promoting early detection of breast cancer and mammography screening. Over time, the initiative expanded to cover the entire month and gained an international reach.

The examinations took place at the ‘Moja Rodzina’ Medical Centre in Warsaw. Twenty-four women from the Mazowieckie voivodeship, including the municipality of Lesznowola, took part.

Tetiana Kutsiak, President of the ‘Moja Rodzina’ Medical Centre, comes from Dnipro in Ukraine and is a frequent guest at our Club’s meetings. We are pleased to be able to work together for the local community.

The family medical business from which ‘Moja Rodzina’ developed began in Dnipro in 1997. A small dental practice grew into a multidisciplinary medical centre that continues to operate today. The Warsaw facility builds on this history and the experience gained over the years.

We thank Ms Tatianie and the entire medical team for their cooperation and for carrying out the examinations, and Flying Bag for its commitment. We also extend our sincere thanks to the Vietnamese–Polish interpreter, Ms Đỗ Ngọc Trâm of the Association of Vietnamese Women in Poland, who helped patients and medical staff communicate during the examinations. We thank all the women who took this opportunity for their trust.

For our Club, this is part of a wider commitment: STOP CANCER is one of the four main areas of our work. The October campaign forms part of our cancer prevention activities.
